Claims Specialist

What you'll be doing

Based at our offices in central Reading, you'll handle all aspects of claims across different product lines - including life, critical illness, disability and fracture - in line with agreed claims procedures and standards. You'll work closely with the Claims Manager to support the growth of the Claims Team. And you'll have an opportunity to help develop our claims philosophy and operating processes, contribute to the production of claims literature and grow our relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Handling a portfolio of life, critical illness, disability and fracture claims in line with our operating processes and agreed claims philosophy.
  • Working with and supporting the Claims Manager on a daily basis in building our claims proposition, including the development of claims literature, operating processes and philosophy.
  • Building strong relationships with service providers, reinsurers and other internal and external stakeholders.

Who we need

Ideally, you'll have experience of:

  • Assessing life and critical illness claims within agreed authority limits.
  • Handling disability and fracture claims.
  • Technically developing claims philosophies and processes.

The following would be desirable, but are not essential:

  • Relevant CII qualifications, or equivalent, or a willingness to study for them.
  • A good understanding of UK claims practices and legislation.
  • Good IT skills
